Did you know that restaurant reservation site OpenTable pays you a dollar to keep your reservation at one of its restaurants? This is in the form of points that can be redeemed when you accumulate enough. For each reservation you make, you get 100 points and you can redeem your points for a check when you accumulate 2000 points. Even better, there are certain restaurants that offer 1000 points per reservation! That's ten dollars FREE for doing nothing other than showing up at a time you said you wanted to eat. The times that 1000 points are available are usually slightly off-peak dining hours or days, but aren't generally too restrictive. Make sure to check the list at OpenTable for available dates/times when deciding on when to go. I'd provide a link to 1000 point restaurants, but the OpenTable site isn't terribly link friendly...
One small item to note: you need to make your reservation directly through the site, rather than clicking through the restaurant site or from a review site like Yelp.
We'll revisit OpenTable points at a later date as we consider how it can be combined with other deals.
